Day 6 - 24/06/23

Sorry for the late post everybody, had a very busy day yesterday and couldn’t find the time. Spent most of this day on the train, made the brutal mistake of not booking a seat and ended up spending 4 hours sitting on the floor.

After nearly getting off at the wrong spot, we finally got to Prague! One thing I didn’t remember about Prague is the sheer number of hills that the city was built on. Even the boys from Sheffield of all places were struggling with these hills. Dragged my suitcase up a huge hill and finally checked into the hostel. The rooms were very nice and we’re sharing it with two girls from Leeds who are very nice too. We had 4 of our friends meeting us in Prague, so we found them and went to have dinner. Prague is the first place we’ve been to that’s cheaper than the UK, so we indulged in having 3 drinks and a steak and chips dinner for only £22!

We then ventured into the centre, and after getting quite lost we got a cab to the square and had some takeaway pints from a stall. After this, two of my friends went home due to exhaustion and the rest of us decided to stay out. We got some more pints and wandered over to Charles Bridge to have a look at the view. After this we decided to go home too, and on our way back we made a quick pitstop in a bar to use the toilet, but it ended up being an incredibly cool bar so we decided to stay for a couple of hours!

The drink above was inspired by Ernest Hemingway apparently.

And this drink here was inspired by Egypt!

The man who created this bar was incredibly interesting. He had a whole section at the end of the menu about his life. I’ll include it for anybody interested, but a brief summary is that he invented the Bloody Mary, dated Coco Chanel, designed the Cuban flag and worked for Al Capone’s alcohol smuggling business.
