Day 3 - 21/06/23
Thankfully the train from Hanover to Berlin was only an hour or so, and I even managed to get a seat in first class for the last 10 minutes! After setting foot in Berlin, we got an uber to our hostel (not Big Lebowski themed, unfortunately). We were greeted in our hostel room by 3 loud American girls (we asked where they were from and they responded ‘the land of the free’) and one Australian man who had clearly had enough of the three girls already. After a quick shower we were off to meet Jo and Polly, our friends from university who had been in Berlin for a day already. We had a few drinks by Monjiboupark, and then went out for dinner. We went to a schnitzel restaurant, and I opted to have the ‘German tapas’, which was really just sausages in different sauces but still very nice. I had no idea that schnitzel was basically just Germany’s take on fish and chips.
After that, we went to a few bars, including one with an interesting bar owner from Nottingham. Still exhausted from our day of travelling, we went straight to bed afterwards.
